Okta (SSO) SAML Configuration for Laurel

Using Okta for your timekeepers to authenticate into Laurel products.

Laurel requires our customers and users to login with an SSO provider. This article provides the steps required to setup Okta as a login method into Laurel services.

Use Okta's App Integration

Okta provides a simple to integrate with Laurel. Please ensure you have enough administrative rights to setup the authentication integration.

  1. Sign into Okta with your admin account.

  2. Navigate to Applications.

  3. Search for "Laurel."

  4. Select "Add Integration" the Laurel application.

    1. Ensure to check both application visibility options:

  5. Under "Assignments" Assign users or groups with access to the Laurel application.

  6. Contact your Laurel integration team with information on which users or groups you would like enabled for SSO. Please include the following information:

    1. SAML 2.0 Endpoint

      1. Found under Sign On tab within the SAML Setup section.

      2. Click "View SAML setup instructions."

    2. Public Signing Certificate

      1. Found under the Sign On tab under the SAML Signing certificates section.

      2. Click on the "Actions" button and select "Download certificate."

    3. List of Users

      1. All users the require Laurel Access

      2. Format list: firstName, lastName, emailAddress format

        1. ie. Ryan, Alshak, [email protected]

Finalize Okta Setup

  1. Laurel solutions team will configure Okta integration and respond with a firm-specific Connection ID.

  2. Within the Okta Administration panel:

    1. Select the Sign On tab for the Laruel SAML app and click "Edit"

    2. Scroll down to Advanced Sign-on Settings.

    3. Enter the Connection ID and click Save.

      1. Click Save.

  3. Confirm users are able to successfully authenticate into Laurel using their Okta credentials at app.laurel.ai.
