As a delegate timekeeper, you can manage time entries for multiple timekeepers through the Laurel web app. This guide will walk you through the login process and show you how to switch between different timekeepers' accounts. The entire process takes just a few minutes and requires your firm's SSO credentials.

What you'll need:

  • Your firm's SSO credentials.

  • Access to a web browser for the Laurel web app.

  • Delegate permissions for the timekeepers you need to manage. Please note that only the delegator must give you these permissions, you cannot change these permissions yourself.

Step-by-step Instructions

Access the web app

Step 1: Navigate to the Laurel web app

Open your preferred web browser and go to app.laurel.ai, or use the direct link provided by your firm.

Step 2: Log in with your credentials

Enter your firm-provided SSO credentials when prompted. These are the same login details your firm provided for accessing other company systems.

Step 3: Select the timekeeper you want to manage

Once logged in, look for your name in the upper left corner of the screen. Click on your name to open a dropdown menu that displays all the timekeepers you have delegate access to manage.

Step 4: Choose the timekeeper from the dropdown

Select the timekeeper whose time entries you want to work on from the dropdown menu. The screen will refresh to show that timekeeper's work activities and timesheet.

Step 5: Switch between timekeepers as needed

To manage time for a different timekeeper, simply click on the name in the upper left corner again and select a different timekeeper from the dropdown menu. You can switch between timekeepers throughout your work session as needed.

Important note about the desktop assistant

As a delegate, you typically do not need to log into the Laurel desktop assistant unless you are also keeping time for yourself. The desktop assistant is only required for automatic activity tracking, which applies to the timekeeper's computer, not your delegate workstation.

If you do need to track your own activities while working as a delegate, you can install and log into the desktop assistant following the same process as any timekeeper.

Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble with any of these steps:

  • If you can't see the timekeeper dropdown: Contact your firm's administrator to confirm you have delegate permissions for the timekeepers you need to manage.

  • If a timekeeper doesn't appear in your dropdown: Your delegate access may not include that person, or their account may not be properly configured. Reach out to your firm's administrator for assistance.

  • If you're getting a configuration error when you try to access a timekeeper: If you just became a delegate for a timekeeper, you need to fully log out of the Laurel app and log back in before you can access their time. If you do not take this step, you will get a configuration error.

  • If the web app won't load: Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser temporarily. You can access the web app from any browser at app.laurel.ai.

What happens next

Once you're logged in and have selected a timekeeper, you'll see their work activities and timesheet just as they would. You can review their tracked activities, create time entries, edit descriptions and billing codes, and release entries to your firm's practice management system on their behalf.

Important reminders:

  • Your login typically lasts 30 days for the web app.

  • You can manage multiple timekeepers from a single login session.

  • Always verify you're working in the correct timekeeper's account before making changes.

  • You can view and manage timesheets from any device with a browser.

  • The desktop assistant is only needed if you're tracking your own work activities.
