Laurel's capture technology is made up of two main parts:

  1. Laurel's Desktop Assistant - a software installed on your device

  2. Laurel's Cloud Assistants - API integrations with third-party platforms

Through these two offerings, we capture your digital footprint and present the work you completed back to you.

Laurel Desktop Assistant

Let's take a look at what Laurelโ€™s desktop software collects from your device on programs approved by your firm.

๐Ÿ“ง Outlook Emails

Any time you send, receive, or draft an email from your computer on Outlook, Laurel's Desktop Assistant will pick up the subject line, participants, and amount time you spent on the email. Note: If you are logged out of the Laurel Assistant, our Exchange Cloud service will pick only sent emails with a default 3 minute duration.

๐Ÿ“ Documents

Time spent drafting or revising documents via common desktop applications such as the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PPT) or popular PDF tools (Adobe, Kofax, etc.) will be captured by our Desktop Assistant along with the document title. Note: To collect work completed on online versions of Microsoft Office, your firm must add the associated URL to your collection list.

๐Ÿ”Ž Research

Any time spent on Chrome, Edge, or Firefox on a URL approved by your firm will be captured by the Desktop Assistant. Additional websites can be added by request to [email protected].

๐Ÿ“ฎ Requested Applications

We can capture time spent in other desktop applications, such as Microsoft OneNote and DocuSign. Additional desktop applications can be added by request to [email protected].
